A micro forest can now be found where there used to be an unused raised bed and an unused section of the garden. For this purpose, more than 200 tree seedlings were planted in a very small space using the method of Dr. Planted Akira Miyawaki. This method can create (micro) forests that after 10 years have the characteristics of a 100-year-old forest.
In addition, a retention system for heavy rain was installed and a rain barrel irrigation with recycling hoses was set up. All trees were planted together with hotel employees.
In the future, the micro-forest will provide shading on the south side of the building for cooling and an improved microclimate.

You can find more information on this in our detailed story on the topic of micro forests.
